Experience and Skills:
The ideal candidate is bright, detail-oriented, reliable, and is an avid reader, writes well, and, above all, wants to learn about book publishing.
If interested, please e-mail a cover letter that includes your availability, your current resume, and a reader’s report of a recently published book (released in the last 10 years or so), all collected into a single attached Word file or PDF, to Bee Holekamp at TradeEditorialInternships@wwnorton.com. Reader’s reports are usually about 1-2 single-spaced pages in length and should include a brief synopsis, a discussion of any editorial concerns, a consideration of the book’s potential readership, and any other relevant insights about whether the book is worthy of publication. Our application deadline for the spring session is August 2, 2019. Only applicants who follow these instructions will be considered.
