Job Description:

W. W. Norton & Company is seeking an Apple / iOS Desktop Support Analyst. As a member of the Desktop Support Team, you will be responsible for setting up and maintaining iMac, MacBook, iPhone, and iPad hardware and software. If you like working in a dynamic team environment, this is the position and department for you. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, is detail oriented, eager to learn new technologies, and able to work independently. This position will report to the Director of Information Services.

Essential Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Setup FileMaker, Adobe, Microsoft Office Suite, and custom software applications
  • Create user accounts utilizing Microsoft Active Directory
  • Configure and deploy iMac and MacBook computer systems
  • Maintain Distribution Lists and Groups using Microsoft Exchange Admin Console
  • Provide Hands-on technical problem solving and resolution to end users
  • Log and track support tickets using the FreshService help desk system
  • Familiarize and train end users on software and peripheral devices
  • Assist with the maintenance and configuration of various FileMaker Database Systems
  • Collaborate with other departments to solve user issues in a timely manner
  • Maintenance and provisioning of networked high-volume production printers

Required Qualifications:

  • Employment eligibility to work with W. W. Norton & Company in the US
  • Must be able to work full business hours from Norton’s New York City Headquarters. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are temporarily providing employees the option to work remotely

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2 - 4 years’ experience setting up Apple computers
  • Ability to setup accounts utilizing Microsoft Active Directory
  • Install, diagnose, repair, maintain and upgrade hardware and software as needed
  • Familiarity with FileWave, JAMF, or similar MDM solution
  • Knowledge of Universal Type Client or other font management solutions is a plus
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability
  • Not afraid to ask questions or make suggestions
  • Experience with color management systems is a plus
  • Knowledge of Google Admin Console
